Music - Music Industry (Bachelor of Arts)

This concentration is for the student desiring a career in the Music Industry profession and will prepare students for leadership positions in the business, management, and technology structures of the music industry.  The curriculum, made up of core music, music industry, music technology, and business courses, combines a rigorous introduction to the artistic, financial, and managerial skills which are necessary to succeed in the music industry. Music Industry students will be provided with the critical and creative space to innovate, integrate and adapt as next-generation transformational thinkers in an ever-evolving global music business.

Completion of this program requires a total of 125 hours.

Individual applied music must be studied each semester for a total of four semesters.  Normally, all four semesters should be taken in the same applied instrument (voice, piano, clarinet, etc.). In exceptional cases a change from one instrument to another may be permitted in the major area with the approval of the instructors involved and the department head.

Two (2) ensembles/semester. Freshman and Sophomore students will take 100/200 level ensembles and Junior and Senior students will take 300/400 level ensembles.
