Family and Consumer Sciences Education (Bachelor of Science in Education)

A Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education is offered.  Successful completion of this program includes meeting all requirements and earning a passing score on the edTPA portfolio during the internship semester.  Upon completion of this program and any state-required Praxis Subject Assessments, a student will be eligible to apply for the baccalaureate level Professional Certificate which provides teacher certification for family and consumer sciences (6-12).  Teacher Education Programs may be altered to meet changes in federal and Alabama State Department of Education regulations.  

Majors in Family and Consumer Sciences Education are also qualified for positions in Cooperative Extension Service, business, foodservice supervision, and other related fields.
